Essay Assignment

We are given a task to write an essay for a minimum 800 words.The essay is based on our topic-Career in creative multimedia.

                           When we talk about career in creative multimedia,I think most of us will refer to all fcm student.We know that in multimedia university we have special faculty which is called faculty of creative multimedia or called FCM.This is exactly true because they are in this field and they must know where they are going after graduated.They know which industries they are going to fill with their own multimedia skill.As we all know,if we observe these creative multimedia students they have various capabilities when they sit in front of computer.These students is not like students from other faculty because they will be hired by particular company after  being judged based on practical skill but students from critical course will be evaluated based on how well they performed during their examination.This is including animating the 3d character,2d animation,advertising skill,website development,product designing and others.Over a decade the advancement of creative multimedia field  has devepelod and year by year there must be  a launch of new technologies which will be explored by multimedia artist.We see that some of creative student are kind of ignoring for subjects other than their core major subject.This is because they know their skill or expertise in certain platform will bring them in a bright future.Now we will talk about their career jobs.

                          As we know creative multimedia is divided into several department which are film and animation,media innovation,virtual reality,and interface design.Now we are going to explain the future jobs from different department one by one.About students from Film and Animation,everyday they will focus on using 3d software like 3d max or Maya.They have been burdened by some heavy assignment such animate the 3d character,visual effect task and motion graphic.I would say that this department is the hardest majoring in any multimedia school.Only them are knowing how much pain they would face everyday.For example is a character animation assignment.This particular assignment is not just finishing up the animation but it has been divided into several process before the animation is completed.There are including lighting,visual effect and rendering.So this is the difficult stages to produce a good quality work.The advantage for the student from this department is they encouraged to focus on  particular skill such as lighting and rendering.So in any company there will be a several team of animation artist doing the different process.Animation team is given a task to deliver a live to a character.Lighting team is asked to design the natural or artificial light sources that should fall onto the scene and rendering team is responsible to setting up to finalize the desire outcome imagery.In Malaysia,these kind of students should not be worry on their future to get involved in industries.In fact,this industry will find them.For example is les copaque production the one that produced Upin and Ipin the movie.Until now they are still have not enough workers to finish  many of works.In recent years also some of our local company has produced  some outstanding visual effect in film scene.So film and animation student has a lot opportunity to get a  fantastic job.

                      Media innovation is a department that have been specialized in advertising scope.They are responsible to train the people to be able developing a new interesting ideas based on the product brand image.Brand image is the factor that influence consumer buying habits without noticing it is the key aspect of it.These people are working on brand image which carry the identity of the product,the company or service that makes it so unique.It means  people have a thought that some new brand can’t fight the market of the stable brand but the brand image has make it works.So If you meet media innovation student they will talk about designing.They use photoshop and illustrator for almost of their work.The difficulty of their work is not as hard as animation work.They have no heavy technical stuff but they have so many work and the work must be prefect.People like them is needed in any corporate company to deliver very reliable brand.Not only that,they are the person in charge to make the new brand so believable and to make people put trust on their new brand.For example is a new food product.The packaging itself has strengthen the attraction of food itself.This is what advertising students have to do.The banner,the logo and everything about that will be refer to them.They are also be able to be a web designer.It is because their knowledge  of branding and design make them a special people for that position.The most important point here is any business production need a good designer.

                 The other major department in creative multimedia is virtual reality or called VR.This field is quite slow in Malaysia because it is not widely exposed to the people in Malaysia.Not many people know what this multimedia field is doing and still not very developed in the world.For instance,a simulation which done by VR student has no such an impact to industry.For your information Virtual reality has the less students among the other course.Their career prospect is quite narrow and many of these students will go abroad to find an available position for them.The nearest state is in Singapore.Last but not the least is Interface design.People in this department are learning about designing the new existing product based on the choosen metaphor.The metaphor is really flexible like an animal,plant and others.As an example is mouse.They would choose any kind of metaphor to get  the shape of animal and the mouse will be designed curved like the choosen animal.Their work is awkward and looks weird to student from other departments.Their skill is limited only to drawing and marker rendering.I think most of them have difficulty in finding the proper job for them.

                  For the conclusion,creative multimedia is probably the unique field in the world.These people deserve to have a bright future for their coming career if they are passionate,have a good manner and consistent in their work.Many people claims that this course has no job guarantee but that is not true.The sad fact about the student of creative multimedia is many of them lost their passion in this field.We hope that the government will modernize our multimedia world so that our creative people would get a stable job and get a reasonable salary.

2nd Assignment

For my second assignment we were ask to do two logical mind map about creative multimedia.Then we have to pick out one main point from the first mind map,and then make one more mind map from that point.Then we have to write an essay about the second mind map.

Love does'nt know about what race you are.Because anyone deserved to be loved.

Sometimes in love we used to feel awkward based the fact of our differences.

Woman is great.They have various of capabilities which we don't know inside them.

Class exercise-juxtaposition

In this exercise we have to focus about juxtaposition.This one we have to select random numbers from both side and match the words.Then we have to make sentence by relating two words that we choose.

Then we have to illustrate based on the what the sentences is  deliver.

After that we have to come up with images that match the new words after combining two words from the step one.

Last but not the least,i have to create juxtaposition based on the picture given.The picture is a chili and i have to describe the concept of love base on the chili.

JUXTAPOSITION-Personal reflection

                       Juxtaposition is placing two variable,side by side to show a similarity and contrast through comparison.I think that juxtaposition is the ways for many poetry to developed their language.Every languages has their own juxtaposition.That's why in our primary school we take literature class.From that we would learn so many juxtaposition that we still use until now.Correct is it?And i think everyday people use juxtaposition to swear other people,to advise people,and to allegorise something.Juxtaposition makes our conversation to be interesting which will make people laughing if it sound like humor.But i admit that we will use juxtaposition everyday just for swearing someone we don't like or when we are in depression.This method would make a contradiction between our right or left brain.This is because many of them is out of logical thinking.

Metaphor and similes


Metaphor=This is a figure of speech to linking two different things by some similarity.But this method occured when two different things is connected by imaginative ways.It means that the obvious comparison is not a metaphor.There is no such words like as/like.

Example=Boy,i am burned up!


Similes=It is a figure of speech indirectly compares two different things by employing the word like/as or than.

Example=Chris was a record-setting runner and as fast as a speeding bullet.


Logical analogies and affective analogies


Logical analogies=This is a analogies,which use the similarities in the design,the capability or a function to connect back to the subject.For example a bird and a aeroplane has the fact that we can compared both because both of them can fly in the air.

Affective analogies=This type of analogies is a emotional resemblance.The nearest example is the use of animal to portray a characteristic of people.For example is "Muzaffar is lazy like a cat".How do we know that cat is lazy?Maybe we see their purpose of life is just looking for food and sleep after filled with food.Forget about that.That just an anlogies.

      Actually logical mind map is a direct connection to the stereotypes.It consists anything of solely stereotypes words.It means that any words that put within the mind map is very direct to the central of the object.My personal opinion about this type of method is we can simply get the general idea of what the core title is related about.Because everything besides the the central object is very clear and stereotypes and we would immediately get the rough idea.I think this method is really good for making such a good notes which will increase our short term memory of remembering the main points.That's why some of lecturers encourage us to do it rather than writing such a long words.It is because it saves time and we would focus on what lectures says while writing just a short points.

The rules of logical mind mapping

-We always have the subject in the centre of the page
-We should make the subject looks dominant than the rest of the words and images.
-Focus on the main categories before executing on mind map
-Put the exact images beside the words as to make it clear upon the word itself.
-The ideal mind map is to be shaped like a roots of a tree,branching out from a center.


Associated mind map


      By using a associated mind map it really works in developing and generates the ideas outside the subject and  it let us producing some random words and show the links between words that seemingly have no connection.Somehow it pushes our left brain to pop up some point that have no any connection but they can be used beyond the main ideas.So that we should have thinking the ideas without any logical mindset.

-Start off with the subject dominating the whole thing.
-Immediately branch off  to main catagories as you would in a logical mind map.
-Pick a link and start expanding.write anything that comes to your mind.

Novelty and Innovation

                                         For me novelty is making something new or being freshly new.Actually there are two type of novelty which is subjective novelty and objective novelty.So what do you think of about subjective novelty?It is a assumption or personal apperception what is novelty is all about.Like us.We have personal view of what the genius is all about.Some people might think genius is people who are around in the field of mathematics,science or anything like that.But some people will think that this guy is genius in football,or these people are so genius in playing chess.So each of us would call a geniuse in different meaning.And it is same for novelty.For example you are creating design.I will say that each of design is a product of novelty.It must be original and new.But we can't  avoid equation among them.In novelty does't mean we can fully avoid equation in making something new.It may seems a little same between them but it must be different in term of concept and in uniqueness.

                                        Secondly is about objective novelty.It is something that is new for all humanity in its development through ages.Actually a novelty also comes after it ever existed before.So it is something that has been created but it become a new again if it preceded by something different.The concept of borrowing and recurring are considered as the elements of novelty production.

                                       Now i want to touch about innovation.For my personal definition,innovation is a process of changes in making improvement on any organization.This is a must for any businessman or businesswoman.It is  a process by which people will pay you after you have delivered a good service.But it must be realiable and replicable at cost and it must be satisfying most.Innovation must make any organization become more efficient and productive in doing work.The simple example is your business image.If you are in changing your business identity it means you are making innovation.It is because you would atrract people by your new identity that you believe most.Another example is you delivering a faster services than before.This faster service will satisfy and relieve the customer because people don't like to wait long.In this case what we have to do is to learn business psychology so that we will know what people want in any service.

                            

An accurate definition and the Myth of creativity

                         After i learned the deep about creativity,it is the generation of new ideas or a new way of doing things.Day by day the technologies that we used in our personal life is a new way of using it.For example,Iphone 4 that recently have been launch is quiet different form the previous product.The way we scroll the menu over the screen is so smooth and it's easier to use.So people behind the Apple incorporation use their thinking skill on how this product will become more productive and convenient to use.Thinking process is including after they received millions of feedbacks all around the world.They would recognize some of the dissatisfied feeling of the customer about iphone and they will rectify the errors that they made.So from that,we know that creativity is about the revolutionary of making new things that satisfy us.Any problems that came to us is not actually the barrier that stop us being creative but the problem itself increase our thinking skill.So creativity needs high thinking skill. In being creative,we need intelligent mind so that the solution that we produce has a some kind of value.I would say that a robbers that plan the strategy doing the robbery are the creative people.They know how to hide the activity from knowing by the polices and the tactics of getting much money from the robbery plan.But what they are doing has no value.They will get caught by the police and the activity itself is so evil.So we need intelligent thought of producing a creative solution.

                     Is not that hard of getting intelligent mind.What we need is we collecting a many information of what we will be doing.Do so many research and asking someone that know more than you.Learn from others and take time to make your own decision.This is how to train your intelligent skill because i think that creativity is 99 percent from training.I have heard some of the myths about creativity.These things will actually put people in a wrong concept so that people will think they are just special people or gifted person that can only be a creative people.The first thing is only special talented people are creative.I think that we can't deny that there are some talented people who are creative but they are only skillful in only specific matter.It is same with us.Actually we have a specific strength in any particular field.For example animator is specifically expertise in animation but they can't do what programmers do.It is because it depends on our interest.We are creative in our field.That's why people will be successful in his business that he like most.

                Another myth about creativity is people thought that only an artist have to be a creative.Supposedly
all of us have to be creative even we are in logical thinking field. Let say a teacher in one school.He or she would have thinking a method to make his or her students interested on the teaching itself.So there is no barrier on who should or should'nt be creative.Everyone must be creative.It is true that the artists should be more creative because they are entertaining people and they can't have the same idea.I'm hoping that all of us getting out of the myth of becoming the creative ones.It is same about richness.Everyone should be rich and none of us should thinking about poverty.But we are helping them.

              
              

                
                

                

Right brain and left brain

                I think i have heard about the right brain and the left brain side since i was in secondary school.At that time,i was thinking whether i am more dominant to left brain side or right brain side.Now i'm talking about right brain side.This is because that time i always thinking outside the logic and kindly of not good accepting the fact.Then i wasn't doing good in critical subject like chemical,and mathemathic.From that i was found myself as a right brain dominance.Why?Because i'm good in follow the ryhthm of music,good in drawing and i'm quite imaginative.During my school days,i was quite different among all my friends because they are good in mathematic and anything that use logical thinking instead of thinking visually.Even i'm not good in math,but i am surprisingly great in playing chess.People always saying that chess is for mathematic brained but i don't think so.I think it is a prove of how creative you are.In building strategy you have to use your creativity rather than thinking logically.It does not matter about any occasion that need strategy but you would use your right brain so much.People always quote that "think outside the box" and that is about right brain.The other thing is i found myself  not good in language.The guy like me need much of time to master language.It means that people that are left brained are excellent in mastering many language.But some people need time.

           Secondly i want to talk about left brain.Left brain is all about words,numbers,logic and analytic.Left brain or preferred as successive processor learning the data in step by step sequential format.So we can see that many of professional people comes from left brained.They succeed in processed information they received in sequential way.They are seeing the whole picture in verbally and arranging the information in an analytical way.People that are most left brained are too obedient to rules.Some of traits that belong to left brained people such as punctual,high responsiveness to logic,good in recalling people's name,and prefers formal study way.The dominance of which side of brain is really affecting the characteristic of someone.People nowadays think  that as higher the level we are get controlled by the left brain,as it gets successful we are.But we are completely wrong about that.To get successful in this world we must possess the skill.And the skill is come from our right brain,that control the pattern our mind to work.About the getting money,i think people that right brained is more successful that people are left brained.That is my personal point of view.

                                                                                                   

Creativity?

                          In my personal opinion,creativity is subjective.since years ago,there are some people from different profession has different thought about creativity.They are philosopher,psychologist.scientist that were suggesting the understanding of creativity from their own experiment and they have personal view about it. So from that,i also have my own definition about creativity.Because i think everyone as a human being in this world are creative  but it separates the people who is more creative by how much they can use their creative mind.Even the animal is also a creative by looking at their own skill and the way they are thinking on how to survive in their own world.Maybe we can see the creativity of animal in such program like national geography and animal planet how they structured the strategy to catch their victim and how they hiding their appearance from seeing by human because some of them thinking humans are eater and cruel.But this is just animal.They got the limitation to become more creative because the purpose of their living is just to survive.But as a human being,we have a civilization mission.We are civilizing the economy and technologies.That's why day by day we become more creative.We have not a limitation,but we have problems everyday.The problem itself  make us finding the solution and by doing that we increase our creativity.

                       My definition of creativity is the ability to produce a novel solution that never existed before and the method that ease our living.Everything that is new but we create them is a creative product.That's why everyone has their own creativity because we have different thinking skill.Even making a joke is a creative process and that's why we call a animation product is a creative product and the people behind it are the creative
people and the product itself make us laughing.Me myself as a faculty of creative multimedia student is in the process of being creative because what would i created in my every single work is something new and never existed.I think after i entered this course i learned how to be creative in solving the problems.Even i'm in depression but my creative thinking will help me stablelized the circumstanced.So let's become a creative people!!
